397 and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided paid Acknowledged Before Nicholas Dorsey of Lloyd 3¼ Recorded the 2d day of april 1828
Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving Do hereby declare free manumission and Enfranchise the following negro boy by the name of Timothy aged three years old Last may to be at free Liberty at the age of twenty one years or at the Expiration of Eighteen years from May 1827 hereby acknowledging the slaves named negro boy to be free and at full liberty at the age and Term above mentioned discharged from all Claim of Service right of property whatever from me my heirs Executors administrators or assigns or any person or persons claiming under us Witness my hands and seals this seventeenth day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight Witness her McLane Brown Elizabeth X Johnson (seal) Caleb Davis mark Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On the seventeenth day of January 1828 personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County Elizabeth Johnson and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be her act and deed and the negro boy Timothy therein mentioned to be free at the time and Term |
