396 From Slavery Liberated manumitted and set free and by these Presents do hereby release from slavery Liberate manumit and set free my negro woman Deb or Deborah and one male Child Francis She being of the age of thirty four years and able to work and gain a sufficient Livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Deb or Deborah and one male Child Francis I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and Discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever in Testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirty first day of March Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Horatio White Zedekiah Moore (seal) Nicholas Dorsey of Lloyd Received on the thirty first day of march Eighteen hundred and Twenty Eight the sum of one dollar Current money it being the full Consideration money within mentioned Witness my hand and seal Horatio White Nicholas Dorsey of Lloyd Zedekiah Moore On the Back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland anne arundel County to wit On this 31st day of march 1828 personally appears Zedekiah more party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman and Child within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him (and) |
