394 Executors administrators or assigns forever In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this third day of March in the year Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of us Abraham C Steuart Thomas Steuart (seal) Abner Linthicum On the Back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County sct On this third day of March in the year Eighteen hundred and Twenty Eight before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace in and for said County came Thomas steuart and acknowledged the within deed of manumission to be his act and deed according to the True intent and meaning of the same paid Abner Linthicum 3 Received the 3d day of March 1828 Whereas Charles Pettibone late of anne arundel County deceased did in his life Time sell and dispose of to a Certain Perry Wright a free Coloured man his wife susan then the slave of said Pettibone and also a Daughter of said Susan named Sarah or Sally for a Certain Sum of money to be paid for the said Susan and Sally by the said Perry wright under the understanding and agreement that said Susan and Sally were to be free and manumitted and Whereas the said Charles Pettibone died before the said Contract was fully Complied with and the money Consideration paid by the said Perry Wright And whereas the said Perry wright has since fully paid the purchase money for said Susan and (Sally) |
