383 the peace in and for the county aforesaid and acknowledges the aforegoing Deed of manumission to be his act and deed and the negroes therein named to be free and manumitted according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided paid Acknowledged before R I. Cowman 3¼ Recorded the 23d day of September 1827 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Thomas James Stockett of Anne Arundell County and State of Maryland for divers good causes me thereunto moving and for the further sum of twenty dollars to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do liberate manumit and set free in the following manner to wit my negro woman Ann aged twenty nine years to be free at the age of thirty five years and her issue or issues forever at the age of thirty five years one negro girl Hannah aged nine years to be free at the age of thirty five years and her issue and issues forever at thirty five years of age one negro girl named Fanny aged six years to be free at the age of thirty five years and her issue and issues at thirty five years of age one negro girl named Rachel aged three years to be free at the age of thirty five years and her issue and issues forever at the age of thirty five years one negro boy named Tom aged seven months to be free at the age of thirty five years I hereby have discharged liberated and set free on the above terms from from all servitude to me my heirs executors administrators and assigns forever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth (day) |
