379 and set free my negro slave named Rebecca of about thirty six years of age and about to get her livelihood by labour such manumission to take effect on the twentieth day of July eighteen hundred and twenty seven And I do hereby declare the said Rebecca to be free from and after the day aforesaid and also that her daughter named Elizabeth now about two years of age shall be free on the twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty six and also any issue which may be born of the said Elizabeth shall be free on the day of the birth of such issue In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty seven Signed Sealed and delivered his in presence of us Emanuel + Dadds (Seal) James Hunter mark Heeney Maynadier At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On the 26th of July eighteen hundred and twenty seven appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said county Emanuel Dadds and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed to and for the purposes therein mentioned and the acts of assembly in such cases made and provided paid James Hunter Ex.d d.d 2¾ Recorded the 26th day of July 1827 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Henry Matthews of the City of Annapolis in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of ten dollars current money to me in hand paid have released (from) |
