378 provided Acknowledged before Ex.d d.d R I. Cowman paid 3 Recorded the 7th day of June 1827 Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Wheeler of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland hath for the consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid & also for other divers good Causes & Considerations manumitted and set free from slavery my negro woman named Amy and do by these presents set free from slavery from henceforth the said Negroe woman named Amy who is about thirty five years of age In witness whereof I do hereby set my hand and & seal the twenty third day of June eighteen hundred & twenty seven Witness Nich.s Worthington of Tho.s Thomas Wheeler (Seal) G G Waters At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County sc On the 23d June 1827 came the above named Thomas Wheeler before me a Justice of the peace for said county & acknowledged the above Deed of manumission to be his act and deed for the purposes therein expressed Chd Nich.s Worthington of Tho.s 1¾ Recorded the 2.d day of July 1827 Know all men by these presents that I Emanuel Dadds of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations and in further consideration of one dollar in hand paid to me before the ^en^sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have manumitted and set free and by these presents do manumit (and) |
