Cowman Memorandum The negro boy Dennis mentioned in the aforegoing and within instrument of writing or manumission is now in the possession of Major Osborn S Harwood who intermarried with my sister Elizabeth Anne Harwood and the said negro boy Dennis is to serve the said O. S. Harwood and Elizabeth his wife and their heirs during the time of servitude mentioned in said Deed without being liable to me or my heirs for the hire of wages of said negro boy Dennis Witness H. H. Harwood Chd R. I. Cowman March 13.th 1827 Ex.d d.d 3¾ Recorded the 13th day of March 1827 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Lucy Harwood of anne arundel county in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free the following servants to wit one negro woman named Maria Watkins and her two children Noble and Joseph all to be free from the date of this manumission and all the issue of Maria Watkins after this date to be free forever I further declare that the said servants on this day are manumitted and discharged from all manner of service to me my executors or administrators forever In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this tenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven Signed Sealed and delivered in presence Lucy Harwood (seal) of George G Brewer R I.
