369 arundle county in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby declare free manumission & enfranchise the following negroes to wit negroe Pery aged fifteen years to be free at the expiration of six years from the date of these presents negroe Sally aged thirteen to be free at the expiration of three years from the date of these presents negroe Polly aged eleven at the expiration of five years and negro Rebecca aged Seven years at the expiration of nine years from the date of these presents hereby acknowledging the above named negroes with their increase at the expiration of the space and term of years above mentioned discharged from all claim of service and right of property whatever from me my heirs executors or administrators In witness whereof I have set my name and affix.d my seal this tenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven Signed Sealed and delivered In the presents of McLane Brown Isaac Baker (Seal) Hezekiah Harryman On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On the 10th January 1827 personally appeared before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for county aforesaid Isaac Baker party to the within or foregoing Instrument of writing who acknowledg.d the said Instrument to be his act and deed and the negroes therein mentioned and named to be free from all maner of service wahtever agreeable to the true intent and meaning thereof according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before McLane Brown Chd 2¾ Recorded the 6th day of March 1827 |
