367 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Richard Weems of ann arundell county and state of maryland for divers good causes me thereunto moving and for the further consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release manumit and set free my negro man named Stephen Fisher aged forty four years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro Stephen Fisher I do declare henceforth to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my heirs executors and administrators forever In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 28th day of February 1827 Signed Seald and delivered in presence of Richard Weems (Seal) Gideon White Cha B White At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Received on the day of and date above mentioned six hundred dollars being the full consideration money above mentioned Richard Weems Maryland Ann Arundel County sst On this 28th day of February 1827 appeared Richard Weems before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said county and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed Gideon White paid 2¼ Recorded the 28th day of February 1827 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Francis Oliver of Anne Arundel County in the State of (Maryland) |
