       To all whom it may concern be it known that
I Dennis H Battee of Anne Arundel County in the State of
Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me
thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the
sum of five dollars current money to me in hand paid
have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set
free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery
liberate manumit and set free from and after the respective
periods herein after mentioned the following named negroes
to wit Rachel Johnson being of the age of twenty six years to be
free on the first day of January eighteen hundred and twenty
nine.  Rosetta Johnson aged three years on the first of
January next to be free on the first day of January eighteen
hundred and forty nine and Westley Watkins being of the
age of three years on the first day of January next to be free
on the first day of January eighteen hundred and fifty one
they the said Rachel Johnson Rosetta Johnson and Westley
Watkins being able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood
and maintenance and them the said Robert Johnson
Rosetta Johnson and Westley Watkins I do declare to be free
manumitted and discharged from all manner of
servitude or service to me my executors or administrators
forever from and after the respective periods herein before
mentioned.  And the issue of the said Rosetta Johnson
if any she should have during her time of servitude ot
be free as they respectively arrive to the age of twenty five
years   In Testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and
affixed my seal this twenty eighth day of November in
the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty six

On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit
