34 of me The word "Eight" being first interlined William Woodville, Richd Caton, James Hunter On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus endorsed to wit: State of maryland ann arundel County sc Be it remembered That on this day the twenty ninth of may in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and seventeen personally before me a Justice of the peace for the said State in and for the said County appeared Charles Carroll of Carrollton of the said County in this deed of manumission named and acknowledged it to be his act and deed Chd James Hunter 2 Recorded the 28th day of may 1817 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Elizabeth Childs of ann arundel County and State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five dollars Current money to me in hand paid do from and after the twenty ninth day of march Eighteen hundred and thirty four release from slave liberate manumit and set free and do by these presents from and after the time aforesaid release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro Girl named maria she being Eight years of age the twenty ninth day of march last and her increase to be free when they respectively arrive to the age of twenty five years of age And her the said negro Girl named maria and her increase I do declare to be from and after the time aforesaid to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or (service) |
