330 to be thenceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Ex.d R I. Cowman 2¾ Recorded the 23d day of March 1826 To all whom it may concern be it rem berd that I Orlando G White of anne arundel county in the State of Maryland for divers good causes & considerations me thereto moving as also in further consideration of one hundred dollars lawful money to me in hand paid do hereby release from slavery & set free my negrow man named William Dorsey that is to say the said William is to serve Thomas Griffith to whom I have sold said negrow for the term of five years from the thirteenth day of this instant (March) & after the expiration of said term of five years I do by these presence declare the said negrow William to be free from me my heirs administrators & assigns & from all & every person & persons whatsoever he the said William being now of the age of thirty eight years and no more & of sound boddy & mind of able to work & gain a sufficient livelihood & maintenance I testimony wareof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this Eleventh day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & twenty six Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of Orlando G White (seal) Zachariah Linthicum John W Ringrose At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Received this 11th day of March 1826 the sum of one hundred dollars it being the full consideration above mentioned Test John W Ringrose Orlando G White |
