327 free my negroes Lloyd Sam Phil Sophia & Abagail all under the age of forty five years and able to gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance which said before mentioned negroes I do hereby declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude ot me my executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fourteenth day of March eighteen hundred and twenty six Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of R H Battee (seal) Gideon White Richard Williams At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of one hundred dollars the aforesaid consideration money in full Witness Gideon White R H Battee Anne Arundel county sct Be it remembered that on this fourteenth day of March eighteen hundred and twenty six appears Richard H Battee party to the within instrument of writing before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all Services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d d.d Acknowledged before Gideon White paid 3 Recorded the 14th day of March 1826 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I Robert Warfield of anne arundel county in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery (liberated) |
