322 forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal affixed this third day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty five Signed and delivered in the presence of us Mary Steele (seal) Henry M Steele Sally M Steele At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On this third day of December 1825 personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County Mary Steele and acknowledged the within Deed of manumission to be her act and Deed and the within mentioned negro to be free from the date of these presents according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such Case made & provided paid Acknowledged before Jos Mayo 2½ Recorded the 5th day of December 1825 This Indenture Witnesseth that I Priscilla Richardson of the City of Annapolis in Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of one Cent to me in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have released from slavery manumitted and set free at my death and do by these presents release from slavery manumit and set free at my death my negro Girl named Eliza being about fifteen years of age of a healthy constitution sound in mind and body and capable by labour to procure to her sufficient food and raiment with other necessaries of life and if during the Continuance of the servitude of the said Eliza she shall have any issue of her body begotten then I do hereby determine grant and (agree) |
