313 thousand eight hundred and twenty five signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us James Pryor (seal) Nathan Shipley Test Jacob Strecker At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date above mentioned the sum of one dollar current money it being the full consideration money above mentioned James Pryor Witness Nathan Shipley Anne Arundel county ss Be it remembered that on this twenty sixth day of January eighteen hundred and twenty five personally appears James Pryor party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and Deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided N.B. the words eighteen hundred & twenty five in the third line of the acknowledgment was interlined before the acknowledgment was taken Chd Acknowledged before Nathan Shipley 3½ Recorded the 18th day of April 1825 Know all men by these presents that I Mary Wilson of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland believing that natural freedom is the right of all men given by almighty God do bind myself my heirs executors administrators and assigns to liberate and set free the following negroes to wit negro David born September (the) |
