Hall who acknowledges the within deed of manumission to be his act and deed agreeably to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided paid Acknowledged before and Certified by Ex.d d.d Thomas Sellman 3¼ Recorded the 19th day of march 1817 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Stephen Boone of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations of twenty five dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named milly being of the age of thirty five years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named milly I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty second day of march in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and seventeen Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of: James Hunter Stephen Boone (seal) John Chandler At the foot and on the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Received on the day of the date ^of the^ above mentioned the sum of twenty five dollars Current money it being the full consideration money above mentioned Stephen Boone Anne Arundel County to wit: On the 22d day of (march) |
