308. Interlined before Signing William Mathes (seal) "that" in first and anne arundel County in the 2 line and "if" in the 9 line. Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Gideon White Elisha White On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Maryland Ann Arundell County sst On this 10 day of March 1825 appeared the within named William Matthews before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for Said County and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and Deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in Such Cases made and provided paid Gideon White 3½ Recorded the 10th day of March 1825 Know all men by these presents that I Elijah Pennington for and in consideration me and thereunto moving and for the sum of Twenty Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have hereby discharged manumitted and set free and do hereby discharge manumitt and set free my three negroes on the following terms and time to wit negro Jacob Johnson aged thirty years to be free in Ten years from the date hereof on the twenty first day of March in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty five Sarah Johnson aged twenty two years to be free on the 21 day of March eighteen hundred and forty one and the increase of the said Sarah both male & female to be free at the age of thirty years and their increase forever my negro Chistina aged twenty years to be free on the twenty first day of March eighteen hundred and forty three and the increase of the said christina (both) |
