291 Anne Arundel County to wit On this 28th day of July 1824 personally appeared Samuel Wood J.r party to the within named Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be his act and Deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such Cases made and provided Chd Acknowledged before Lewis Sutton 3 Recorded the 11th day of August 1824 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I George McNier of the City of annapolis in anne arundell County and state of Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations me thereunto moving as also the further Consideration of five dollars to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery manumit and set free my negro Girl Margaret being of the age of thirteen years on the following terms to wit to be free on the twenty fourth day of March one thousand eight hundred and forty one at which time she will be thirty years of age and the issue of the said Margaret both male and female to be free at the age of twenty five years and the issue of the said female issue to be free at the age of Twenty five and the issue of the said issue to be free at Twenty five years of age and so on forever and the said negro girl Margaret I do declare to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude to me my heirs and assigns forever on the (above) |
