above specified terms   In Witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth
day of March one thousand eight hundred and twenty
four
signed sealed and delivered in         Geo McNier (seal)
    presence of Gideon White
       John T Richardson

At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit
Rec.d the day and date above mentioned five dollars in
full Consideration for the above specified sum
                                              Geo McNier

Maryland Ann Arundell County ss   On this 24th
day of March 1824 appeared George McNier before
the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the state and
County aforesaid and acknowledged the above
instrument of writing according to the true intent and
meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such
Case made and provided

To all whom it may Concern be it known that I
Hester Hood of Anne Arundel County in the state of
Maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations
me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration
of one hundred dollars current money to me in hand
paid have released from slavery liberated
manumitted and set free and by these presents do
hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and
set free my negro woman named Nanny Barick
being the age of about forty one or two years and able
to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and
