289 thousand eight hundred and thirty one Jacob aged sixteen nearly to be free the 2d day of october one thousand eight hundred and thirty three solomon aged thirteen and a half years to be free the 7th day of December one thousand eight hundred and thirty five Eliza aged Eleven years to be free the 21st day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight Joshua aged nine years to be free the 6th day of April one thousand eight hundred and forty Leonard aged seven years to be free the 5th day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight Charlotte aged five years to be free the 26th day of april one thousand eight hundred and thirty five all of which negroes are healthy and strong able to gain a sufficient livehood and maintenance and they the said negroes so named I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from and after the periods affixed to their several names from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever them and their increase that shall be born after the date during their servitude the males at twenty one years of age and the females after the age of sixteen years to be free and fully discharged from all manner of servitude In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Witness Sarah Norris (seal) Lewis Sutton Joseph G Conner At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On this 2d day of august personally appears Sarah Norris party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said County (and) |
