286 sufficient livelihood and maintenance and them the said negroes Davy Fanny and Mary I do declare to be free manumitted and discharged from and after the periods above mentioned from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirty first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four signed sealed & delivered in the presence of us Margaret Miller (seal) Gideon White Louis Gassaway At the foot of the aforegoing Deed was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County Viz Be it remembered that on this thirty first day of May one thousand eight hundred and twenty four personally appears margaret Miller before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the aforegoing instrument of writing to be her act and Deed Chd Gideon White 3½ Recorded the 1st day of June 1824 This Indenture witnesseth that I Nicholas D Warfield of Bela of anne arundel County & State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have released from Slavery manumitted and set free and by these presents do release from slavery manumit and set free my negro boy William at the age of thirty one years he being fifteen years of age the twelth day of (June) |
