285 Anne Arundel County to wit Be it remembered that on this 18th day of May 1824 personally appears Jeremiah Townley Chase before me the subscriber one of the State of Maryland's Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the within Deed of manumission to be his act and Deed and the negro woman therein named to be free and manumitted according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such Case made and provided Chd acknowledged before R I Cowman Ex.d d.d 2 Recorded the 18th day of May 1824 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Margaret Miller of the City of Annapolis in anne arundel County and state of Maryland for divers good Causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery manumit and set free from and after the periods herein after mentioned my negro man named Davy my negro woman Fanny and my negro Girl mary that is to say the said negro man Davy being now about the age of forty years to be free from and after the first day of June in the year eighteen hundred and twenty seven the said negro woman Fanny being now about the age of Twenty seven years to be free from and after the first day of June in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty Six and the said negro Girl Mary being now about twenty four years of age to be free from and after the first day of June in the year eighteen hundred and thirty nine the said negroes Davy Fanny and mary being each able to work and gain a (sufficient) |
