283 On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of one Dollar Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Wm Brewer Anne Arundel County to wit On this seventh day of april 1824 personally appears William Brewer party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and Deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro women written named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the acts of assembly in such case made and provided acknowledged before Chd James Hunter 3¼ Recorded the 7 day of April 1824 Know all men by these presents that I Gideon White of the City of Annapolis for divers good Causes me thereunto moving as also the sum of Ten Dollars to me in hand paid have released from slavery manumitted and set free my and by these presents do hereby release manumit and set free my two molatto Girls bought of James ORourke on the 12.th day of April 1823 on the following terms Vizt Bett or Betty aged seven years to be free at the age of Twenty five years Nancy aged three years to be free at the age of Twenty five years and the issue of the said Betty and Nancy and their issue forever to be free at the age of Twenty five years and do hereby declare the said Bett and Nancy to be free from me and my heirs administrators and assigns forever on the above (Conditions) |
