280 Jenny Howe aged eleven years to serve until she shall have arrive to the age of twenty five years her issue to serve until they shall severally arrive to the age of twenty six years and their issue to be free forever I do declare that wherever the aforesaid negroes shall have served out their respective times as above mentioned they shall be manumitted and discharged from all manner of service to me my executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this first day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty four signed sealed and delivered in presence of The words Dennis H Battee (seal) "Severally & out being first interlined Richd Harwood H H Harwood On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed to wit Rece.d on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of Two Dollars Current money it being the full Consideration money within mentioned Dennis H Battee (seal) A A County to wit On this first day of April 1824 personally appears Dennis H Battee party to the within instrument of writing before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and Deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes within named to be manumitted and discharged from all Services to him or to any claiming under him and to free and manumitted according to the true meaning of the within Deed and the act of (Assembly) |
