276 on the day of my death and their increase to their latest generations To wit Cloe being of the age of thirty one years. Belinda being of the age of seventeen years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and them the said negro women named Cloe and Belinda and their increase I do declare to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my heirs executors or administrators on the day of my death and forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Thirteenth day of march in the year of our Lord 1824 signed sealed and delivered her in the presence of Mary + Elson's (seal) Richard G Hutton mark Henry C Drury of Chas On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit On this 13th day of March 1824 personally appears Mary Elson party to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be her act and Deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro women and increase within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all service to her or her heirs or to any claiming under her to be free on the day of her death and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such Cases made and provided Ex.d d.d acknowledged before paid Richard G Hutton 3¼ Recorded the 26th day of March 1824 |
