217 Annapolis the said negro woman named Hess I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirtieth day of October Eighteen hundred and twenty one Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of his Rezin D Baldwin Benjamin X Badger (seal) Wm H Marriott On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County ss On this thirty first day of October 1821 personally appears Benjamin Badger party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid & acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the yellow woman within named to be henceforth manumitted & discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Acknowledged before Ch.d Rezin D Baldwin 3 Recorded the 30th day of October 1821 To all whom it may concern Be it known That I Robert Warfield Ju.r of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby |
