215 and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d d.d Acknowledged before Tho.s Burgess ch.d 7 Recorded the 15th day of October 1821 To all whom it may Concern Be it known that I Levi Lanham of anne arundel County and State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of one Dollar current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Honor being about the age of thirty six years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance together with her Child named Lenezar aged about two weeks and them the said negro woman named Honor and Child named Lenezar I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators for ever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fourth day of September one thousand Eight hundred and twenty One Signed Sealed & delivered his in the presence of Levi X Lanham (seal) Edward Warfield mark R Warfield On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Anne Arundel County to wit: On this fourth day of September one thousand Eight hundred and twenty one personally appears (Levi) |
