213 dollar Current money to me in hand paid by Jane Boland of the City of Baltimore at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Jane Boland her Executors administrators and assigns all my right title interest and Estate in and to the hereinafter mentioned negro Children my slaves heretofore Conveyed and assigned to me by my father John Eager Howard of the City of Baltimore aforesaid to wit Eliza Ann aged about two years and a half and matthew aged about fifteen months which said slaves are the Children of the said Jane Boland who was heretofore duly and legally manumitted from the twenty fifth day of December in the year One thousand Eight hundred and twenty by a certain John Leigh in virtue of an instrument of writing bearing date the seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twelve and duly recorded among the records of Baltimore County Court in Liber W G number 16 folio 148 as reference being thereunto had will more fully and at large appear the said negro Children Eliza Ann and Matthew to be property of their mother the aforesaid Jane Boland and to serve her unto they shall arrive at the age of seventeen years respectively. And To all whom it may Concern Be it known That I George Howard aforesaid for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving and for the further consideration of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free (and) |
