208 To all whom these presents may Concern Be it known that I John Bonner of Baltimore in the State of maryland for divers good causes & considerations me thereunto moving have by these presents released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free & by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit & set free my negro woman nelly aged about thirty years and her increase from and after the date of these presents & I do declare the said negro & her increase to be henceforth free manumitted & discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me me Executors or administrators for ever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this ninth day of april Eighteen hundred & twenty one Signed Sealed & delivered in the presence of his J Williams John X Bonner (seal) Henry Williams mark On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: anne arundel County to wit: On this ninth day of april Eighteen hundred and twenty one personally appears John Bonner party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman and her increase within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d Acknowledged before Robert Welch Ch.d 2½ Recorded the 30th day of July 1821 |
