203 thirteen years to be free the twenty fifth day of December Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight I hereby release manumit and set free the above negroes and all their increase or issue they being each sound and healthy able to make a sufficient maintenance and livelihood the said negroes I do declare to be thenceforth and henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my Executors or administrators forever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirteenth day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty one Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents of Edward C Harper Richard Conner (seal) Lewis Sutton on the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: anne arundle County State of maryland to wit: On this thirteenth day of June 1821 Personally appears Richard conner party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negroes within named to be henceforth and thenceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ch.d Acknowledged before Lewis Sutton 3¾ Recorded the 26th day of June 1821 |
