202 third of June Eighteen hundred and twenty one personally appears James Williams party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the State of maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ch.d Acknowledged before Gideon White 3 Recorded the 26th day of June 1821 To all whom it may concern Be it known That I Richard Conner of anne arundle County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negroes Viz my negro woman minty aged forty two years of a sound and healthy body and sound mind to be free from this date my negro Girl Elvira the daughter of minty to be free at my death my negro boy Richard aged twenty two years to be free at my death my negro Girl Lucy aged forty four to be free from this date my negro Girl Sophia aged sixteen to be free at my death my negro boy augustus known by the name of John aged (thirteen) |
