193. within mentioned and the negroes therein mentioned to be from the several periods mentioned within manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ch.d Acknowledged before Henry Williams (seal) 4 Recorded the 28th day of march 1821 To all persons whomsoever these presents may Concern Know ye that I John Franklin of anne arundel County and State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations have emancipated and set in full liberty and freedom a mulatto woman named mary and by marriage now called Mary Thomas about thirty six years of age and by these presents do emancipate and set in full liberty and freedom the said mary Thomas and all her increase hereafter and I the said John Franklin for myself my Executors and administrators do hereby for ever relinquish and release the said Mary Thomas and her increase hereafter all manner of right title claim or demand that I have or may have to the services of her or them but that she or them shall and may do and act in all things without the least hindrance or disturbance of me the said John Franklin or any other person or persons whatsoever claiming or to claim any right or title to the said Mary Thomas or her increase as aforesaid by from (or) |
