187 Maryland ann arundel County to wit: acknowledge before me one of the Justices of the peace for said County by the above named mary Shipley as her act & deed this 14th of march Eighteen hundred & twenty one Ex.d Archibald Dorsey 2¼ Recorded the 15th day of march 1821 This Indenture made this fourteen day of march Eighteen hundred and twenty one Witnesseth I Micha Shipley for the Consideration of one Cent to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have manumitted and set free and by these presents do manumit release & set free from slavery my negro boy ned now ten years old to serve untill he shall arrive at the age of thirty five he being sound & healthy & capable of labor In Testimony whereof I do hereby set my hand and affix my seal to this deed of manumission I Mich Shipley being interlined before the acknowledgement being taken between the first and Micha Shipley (seal) second line Arch Dorsey Mary Shipley At the foot of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Maryland ann arundel County 14 march 1821.
