170 appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed this 1.st day of July 1820 paid Before Rezin Estep Ex.d d.d 1¾ Recorded the 11.th day of July 1820 To all whom it may Concern Be it known that I Bain Warfield of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moveing as also in further Consideration of one Dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro Girl named Eliza Hollar from and after the twenty first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty six at which time the said negro Girl named Eliza Hollar if liveing will be of the age of sixteen years and if during the Continuance of the servitude of the said Eliza Hollar she shall have any issue of her body begotten then I do hereby determine grant and agree that the State or Condition of the said issue shall be that of Freedom and I do hereby manumit and set free the said issue In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Eleventh day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Edward Warfield Bain Warfield (seal) Bela Warfield (On) |
