158 under forty five years of age of healthy Constitution sound in mind and body capable of labour to procure sufficient food and raiment with the requisite necessaries of life. In Testimony whereof the said Anne Kelly hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal this fourth day of may Eighteen hundred and Twenty Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of us her Benjamin Wells Ann X Kelly (seal) Joseph Bucey on the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: anne arundel County to wit: On this fourth day of may Eighteen hundred and twenty personally appears Anne Kelly party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the said negroes within mentioned at the times as within mentioned to be manumitted and discharged from all services to her or to any claiming under her and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d Acknowledged before Robert Franklin 3¾ Recorded the 5th day of may 1820 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Joseph Bucey of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moveing as also in further Consideration of the sum of two hundred and Eighty dollars Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted (and) |
