152 On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Ann Arundel County to wit: On this fourth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty personally appeared before us the subscribers two of the Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid the within mentioned John Dorsey and acknowledged the within deed of manumission to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Chd Acknowledged before Arch Dorsey Ex.d William OHara 2¾ Recorded the 12th day of april 1820 To all whom it may concern Be it known That I William Hosgood of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and Considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of the sum of one dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumit and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free the four following negroes namely Hannah aged thirty Eight years and Thomas Hannahs child aged three years, Hariot aged ten years and mary aged Eight years that is to say Hannah to be free from the date hereof she being able to work and gain a sufficient livelyhood and maintenance Thomas to be free in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty one on the first day of January Hariot to be free on the first |
