124 Lord one thousand Eight hundred and nineteen Test R Welch of Ben William P Hardisty (seal) James Smith On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: anne arundel County sc On this 7th day of august 1819 personally appears William P Hardisty before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for anne arundel county and acknowledges the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negroes within named to be manumitted and set free agreeable to the tenor therein mentioned from all Services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided Ch.d Acknowledged before R Welch of Ben Ex.d d.d 3¼ Recorded the 7th day of august 1819 Know all men by these presents that I Susan W Franklin of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and Considerations me thereunto moving have manumitted emancipated liberated and set free and by these presents do manumit emancipate liberate and set free my negro Girl Harriot to be absolutely free and discharged from all claims of servitude to myself my heirs Executors and administrators in four years from this date and her issue born between this date and the expiration of the said term of four years from this date to be free and absolved from slavery at the age of twenty one years And I do hereby declare the said Girl Harriot to be absolutely free and discharged from all claims of servitude to myself my heirs Executors and (adminis=) |
