122 personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for said County the above named Joseph Stansbury who acknowledged the foregoing Instrument of writing to be his act and deed Acknowledged before Abner Linthicum Note. The words "& one negro boy called William being first interlined before acknowled between the six and seventh lines paid Ex.d d.d 2 Recorded the 31st day of July 1819 To all whom it may concern Be it remembered That I Ann Jenifer of ann arundel County and State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of the sum of five dollars Current money to me in hand paid do and have hereby released from slavery from and after the term of my natural life or after the time of my natural death liberate manumit and set free and by these presents from and after the term and time aforesaid do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro Girl named Fanny being of the age of Eighteen years and any issue she may have during the term of her servitude and her the said negro Girl and her issue. I do from and after the term and time aforesaid declare to be thenceforth free and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my heirs my Executors or administrators for ever In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of august in the year of one thousand Eight hundred and nineteen Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of: Abraham Wayson Ann Jenifer (seal) R Welch of Ben (At) |
