107 In Witness whereof I have unto these presents set my hand and affixed my seal on this seventh day of april in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and nineteen Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Horatio Ridout James Moss (seal) Richard moss On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: State of maryland ann arundel County sc.t Be it remembered That on this seventh day of april anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and nineteen James moss Sen.r came before me the undersigned one of the Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within instrument of writing or deed of manumission to be his proper act and deed according to the tenor effect and true intent and meaning of the same and also according to the acts of assembly in such cases made and provided paid Taken before Horatio Ridout dd Ex.d 3 Recorded the 8th day of april 1819 To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Charles W Dorsey of anne arundel County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one Dollar Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Tom aged about thirty five years and my negro man named Isaac aged about thirty nine years the said negroes being able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and them the said negroes I hereby declare to (be) |
