In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this Eight day of November in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and sixteen Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents of us Frederick Harwood George Watts (seal) Horatio Gambrill At the foot of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of One Cent Current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Test Frederick Harwood George Watts (seal) Anne Arundel County to wit On this Eight day of November 1816 Personally appears George Watts party to the within instrument of writing before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided Ex.d d.d Acknowledged before Frederick Harwood 3 Recorded the 8 day of November 1816 To all to whom these presents shall come Be it known that I Elizabeth Griffith of anne arundel County and State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations as will also for the consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid have and by these (presents) |
