98 of annapolis in the state of maryland being possessed of a certain mulatto girl slave called Henny between eleven and twelve years of age who is daughter of a mulatto woman called Fanny who belongs also to me and being about to transfer and convey to m.r Jacob Myers of Baltimore town my right and title in or to the service of the said mulatto girl for a term of years vizt till the first day of may which shall be in the year eighteen hundred and ten from and after which time it is my intention that the said Henny shall be no longer a slave but shall become free now know all men by these presents that I the said John Ridout do hereby declare such my intention and do liberate manumit and declare her the said Henny to be free from and after the first day of may which shall be in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and ten, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13.th day of may 1796 sealed & delivered J. Ridout (seal) in the presence of Phillip Miller Wm Bithray and whereas also by some resident or other the above instrument of writing was never duly |
