96 on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the date above mentioned the consideration being one dollar current money as within mentioned Witness Gideon White his John + Joice mark Anne Arundel county to wit Be it remembered that on the 24th day of april in the year eighteen hundred and ten appeared John Joice party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the state of maryland and for the said county and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro woman within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all service to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Gideon White Recorded 24 April 1810 To all whom these present shall come know ye that I Edmund Warfield of Ann arundel county and state of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have liberated manumitted enfranchised and set at liberty and also do by these presents liberate manumit enfranchise and set at liberty from the day of the date hereof and forever one negro or mulatto woman called Priss or |
