95 day of January eighteen hundred and twenty four, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of february eighteen hundred and ten witness John Ray Jn.o Chew Thomas (seal) Isaac Dorsey on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Ann arundel county sct on the fifteenth day of february 1810 personally appeared John Chew Thomas before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid and acknowledged the within deed of manumission to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof acknowledged before Exd d d Isaac Dorsey 8 Recorded 23.d Ap.l 1810 To all whom it doth or may concern be it known that I John Joice of anne arundel county and state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named Sall Joice being of the age of fifteen years and able to gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Sall Joice I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty fourth day of April eighteen hundred and ten signed sealed & delivered in presence his of us Gideon White John + Joice (seal) Jn.o Mallonee mark |
