85 age of twenty one years In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty ninth day of January eighteen hundred and ten signed sealed & delivered in presence of Jn.o Brice Mary Wyvill (seal) Joseph Phelps on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit State of Maryland Ann arundel county to wit on the twenty ninth day of this Instant January eighteen hundred and ten appeared before me one of the Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid Mary Wyvill who acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be her act and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned 2½ Recorded 29.th Jany 1810 Jn.o Brice State of Maryland Anne Arundel county Sc.t To all whom it may concern be it known that I Elizabeth Claude for divers good causes and considerations me hereunto moving and also in further consideration of fifty dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my mulattoe woman named Polly (who calls herself Polly Castle) being of the age of twenty five years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance for herself and her three children to wit John about five years age ^of age^ Harriott about three years of age and William about two years of age who together with her said three children I do hereby declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me (my) |
