State of Maryland Anne arundel county Ss.t
Know all men by these presents that I Charles
Carroll of Carrollton of the city of Annapolis in the
county aforesaid have manumitted and set free
and by these presents do manumit and set
free a mulatto woman slave named Jarr now
my property and being under the age of
forty five years and able to work and gain
a sufficient maintenance and livelyhood
the manumission to take effect from the
date signing and sealing of these presents
In witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and seal this second day
of January in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and ten
signed sealed & delivered
in presence of                     Charles Carroll of
Rob.t G Harper                     carrollton            (seal)
John B. Robinson

on the back of the aforegoing was
thus endorsed to wit  State of Maryland
Anne Arundel county sct.   Be it remembered
that on this second day of January 1810
personally before me a Justice
of the peace in and for the said
county came and appeared Charles
Carroll of carrollton the grantor
