82 State of Maryland Anne arundel county Ss.t Know all men by these presents that I Charles Carroll of Carrollton of the city of Annapolis in the county aforesaid have manumitted and set free and by these presents do manumit and set free a mulatto woman slave named Jarr now my property and being under the age of forty five years and able to work and gain a sufficient maintenance and livelyhood the manumission to take effect from the date signing and sealing of these presents In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten signed sealed & delivered in presence of Charles Carroll of Rob.t G Harper carrollton (seal) John B. Robinson on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel county sct.
