executors administrators or assigns forever on the said
eleventh day of September eighteen hundred and
twenty nine.   In Testimony whereof I have sett
my hand and seal this eleventh day of
September eighteen hundred and nine
signed sealed & delivered
in presence of                     William M Chaney   (seal)
Gideon White, R Welch of Ben

on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit
Rec.d this 11.th day of Septe.r 1809 five shillings
being the full consideration money above
mentioned
                                        William M Chaney

Ann arundel county to wit  on the
11.th day of September 1809 appeared William
M Chaney before the subscriber a Justice
of the peace for the county aforesaid and
acknowledged the within instrument of writing
to be his act and deed for the purposes
therein mentioned according to the true
intent and meaning thereof and the
act of assembly in such cases made
and provided

Recorded the 11th Sept.r 1809


To all whom it may concern be it known that I Rachel
Rowles of anne arundel county in the state of
maryland for divers good causes and considerations
me thereunto moving as also in further consideration
of ten dollars to me in hand paid have released
from slavery liberated manumitted and set
free my negro woman named Hannah
Harrison being of the age of forty years
and able to work and gain a sufficient
livelihood and maintenance and her the
said negro woman named Hannah
                                  (Harrison)
