70 the peace for the state of maryland for the said county and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro boy within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Gideon White Recorded the 15.th day of april 1809 Ex.d d d State of Maryland anne arundel county Ss To all whom it may concern for divers good causes me thereunto moving I mary Cowman of the county aforesaid do hereby manumit and declare free agreeably to the terms herein after specified to wit my female slave Louisa aged thirteen years or thereabouts and able to gain a sufficient livelyhood and maintainance and her the said female slave Louisa I do hereby declare free manumitted and discharged from slavery when she shall arrive at the age of thirty three years which will be on the 12th day of april eighteen hundred and twenty nine and the issue of the aforesaid female born after the date of these presents shall be free I hereby declaring and acknowledging the said negro Louisa and her issue as aforesaid free and forever discharged from all claim of service right or property whatsoever from me my heirs executors administrators or assigns from and after the expiration of the time and after the date aforesaid In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand (and) |
