to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and
maintainance and him the said negroe man
named Harry I do declare to be henceforth free
manumitted and discharged from all manner
of servitude or service to me my executors or
administrators forever.   In testimony whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
my seal this 28.th day of march in the year
of our Lord 1809

on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit
Received on the day of the date within mentioned
the sum of nine pounds seven shillings and six
pence current money it being the full consideration
money within mentioned

Cowman party to the within instrument of writing
before me the subscriber a justice of the peace
