67 and discharged from all service to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Joseph Sands Recorded the 13 Feby 1809 State of Maryland anne arundel county to wit Know all men by these presents that I have manumitted discharged and set free and do hereby manumit discharge and set free negro Hariott formerly my property and slave. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at the city of Annapolis this fourth day of april in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and nine Test Richd H Harwood Ninian Pinkney (seal) Lewis Duvall On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus endorsed to wit on the fourth day of april eighteen hundred and nine Ninian Pinkney came before me an associate Judge for the third Judicial District of maryland and acknowledged the above to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Richard H Harwood Recorded ap.l 4 1809 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Eleanor washington Cowman of ann arundel county in the state of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of nine pounds seven shillings and six pence current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negroe man named Harry being of the age of twenty seven years and able |
