66 Exd To all whom it may concern be it known that I Washington G. Tuck of anne arundel county in the state of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five shillings current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro girl named Ann being of the age of years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro girl named Ann I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 13.th day of February 1809 Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of Geo. Parker Joseph Sands Washington G. Tuck (seal) on the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Received on the day of the date within mentioned the sum of five shillings current money it being the full consideration money within mentioned Joseph Sands Washington G Tuck anne arundel county viz.t on this 13.th day of february 1809 personally appears washington G Tuck party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the county aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro girl within named to be henceforth manumitted (and) |
